Uses
Aquazide (Hydrochlorothiazide) is a water pill (diuretic) which increases the body's production of urine. Reducing excess salt and water from the blood reduces the volume of blood being circulated throughout the body. As a result of this, blood pressure in the blood vessels is decreased. Treating high blood pressure is important, as it can help to reduce the risk of heart attacks or kidney problems. Another condition this drug treats is oedema (swelling of the feet and ankles caused by excess fluid).

Dosage and Administration
You need to see your doctor before beginning treatment with Aquazide (Hydrochlorothiazide) tablets. Dosage will vary for individual patients, depending on the condition that requires treatment. The most commonly prescribed dosage for adults suffering from hypertension is 25mg taken once per day. Maintenance treatment may require adjustment of the dosage, and the prescribing doctor may increase it to 50mg taken per day, either as a single dose, or else divided into 2 doses. Treatment of other conditions will require different doses, and your doctor will provide you with the appropriate instructions.

Side effects
Taking Aquazide (Hydrochlorothiazide) can cause patients to experience side effects, such as:

• Weakness
• Loss of hair
• Blurred vision
• Pain in the stomach
• A reduction in appetite

Other serious reactions may occur, however this is less common. See your doctor straight away if you notice bruising, blisters on the skin, numbness or any other symptoms of a severe reaction.

Precautions
Patients with a history of diabetes, lupus, liver illnesses, kidney disease or gout must disclose all details related to their condition and current health to the prescribing doctor.

This medicine may reduce potassium levels, and your doctor may direct you to make dietary adjustments or take potassium supplements to remedy this.

Seek immediate emergency medical attention if you suffer an allergic reaction. Symptoms to watch for, which may be indicative of a reaction, include skin rashes, hives, swelling of the face or limbs, trouble breathing, and trouble swallowing.

Always use Aquazide (Hydrochlorothiazide) as you have been prescribed by your doctor. Never self-medicate or change your dosage without first consulting your doctor. The correct dosage can vary depending on your health, medical history, and the severity of the condition being treated.

This medication may not be safe for all patients. Before you begin using it always disclose the following to your doctor:
