Uses
Flomex-N Eye Drops (Fluorometholone/Neomycin) have corticosteroid and antibacterial properties. When applied to the eyes, it works by fighting bacteria and reducing inflammation. Neomycin belongs to a group of medicine referred to as aminoglycoside antibiotics. It is considered to have a broad spectrum of activity against gram negative bacteria and may also be effective against some gram positive bacteria. For this reason, it has been commonly used as a treatment for eye infections.

The other ingredient (fluorometholone) is known as a corticosteroid medicine. It has been used in the treatment of inflammatory conditions affecting the eyes that are considered to respond to treatment with topical corticosteroids. Ocular corticosteroids can help to prevent inflammation, and this is believed to occur due to the induction of certain proteins known as lipocortins. These proteins are important in synthesising prostaglandins (substances responsible for inflammation), and by preventing their release, inflammation can be relieved. Conditions treated with these eye drops include conjunctivitis (also called pink eye) and other similar disorders as deemed necessary by your doctor.
