Nizral Shampoo

Uses
Nizral Shampoo (Ketoconazole) is an antifungal hair care product which is effective at treating dandruff, seborrhoeic dermatitis and pityriasis versicolor (a fungal infection that affects the skin). Many men believe that it may be mildly beneficial in the treatment of hair loss, and as a result of this, use it to supplement treatment with other male pattern baldness medications.

This medicated shampoo works by attacking the cell membranes of the fungi, which results in their eventual destruction, thereby treating the infection. Medical researchers have carried out studies based on reports that this shampoo may have some benefits as a hair loss treatment.

Dosage and Administration
The application procedure for Nizral Shampoo (Ketoconazole) depends on the condition it is being used to treat. Patients who are treating seborrhoeic dermatitis or dandruff may be instructed to use this shampoo twice per week, with treatment lasting for a period of 2 to 4 weeks.

When applied, the shampoo should be allowed to remain on the area being treated for 3 to 5 minutes, after which it may be rinsed clean. Precautions

Do not allow the shampoo to get into the eyes. If this occurs, you should rinse the eyes straight away with lots of water.
