|Relief from pain, fever or inflammation
Novalgin (Analgin) is used as an analgesic (painkiller) and for its anti-inflammatory and antipyretic properties. It has been used to relieve pain caused by injuries or surgery, toothaches, rheumatism, myositis, headaches, high fever which does not respond to other medicines, nerve pain and other types of pain. The active ingredient in this drug belongs to a class of medicines known as pyrazalones, and works by reducing pain, inflammation and fever.
Dosage and Administration
Novalgin (Analgin) tablets each contain 500mg of the active component. The tablets are administered orally. Your doctor will determine the correct dosage, taking into account factors such as your medical history and the severity of the pain being treated. It is very important that you comply with all instructions given by your doctor. Never take more than prescribed by your doctor, as this could be dangerous.
Novalgin (Analgin) can cause side effects, and in some cases, these can be serious. You will need emergency medical attention or hospital treatment if you experience:
- Muscular inflammation
- Decreased blood pressure
- Decreased blood platelets
Discuss the risk of side effects with your doctor before starting treatment with this medicine.
This medicine should not be used in patients with a gastric ulcer.
This drug is generally only used when other medicines have not proven to be effective, due to the risk of agranulocytosis and other serious side effects.
Seek immediate emergency medical attention if you suffer an allergic reaction. Symptoms to watch for, which may be indicative of a reaction, include skin rashes, hives, swelling of the face or limbs, trouble breathing, and trouble swallowing.
Always use Novalgin (Analgin) as you have been prescribed by your doctor. Never self-medicate or change your dosage without first consulting your doctor. The correct dosage can vary depending on your health, medical history, and the severity of the condition being treated.
This medication may not be safe for all patients. Before you begin using it always disclose the following to your doctor:
