Treating skin that is affected by acne Benzoyl Peroxide Persol 2.5 Gel

Uses
Persol 2.5 Gel (Benzoyl Peroxide) is applied to skin affected by acne, so as to promote healing. In some cases, doctors may recommend using it alongside other treatments for this condition. This gel targets bacteria that can irritate the sebaceous glands on the skin, and as a result of this, helps to promote the healing of acne damaged skin.

Another benefit of this product is that after application, it allows for any unwanted dirt and oily particles to be removed from the skin by means of washing, and allows for comedones to be broken down. When used as directed, patients may also notice that it helps to prevent new comedones from being formed.

Dosage and Administration
Several weeks of treatment with Persol 2.5 Gel (Benzoyl Peroxide) are usually considered necessary before the acne improves. Generally, doctors instruct patients to apply it to the skin 1 to 2 times per day. Your doctor will assess the severity of your acne when making a decision on how often application is needed, however, it is quite common for patients to be directed to use it once per day when starting treatment, so as to test the skin's reaction to the gel.

Side effects
Persol 2.5 Gel (Benzyl Peroxide) may cause patients treating acne to experience some mild topical stinging or burning at the application site. Dry skin, as well as visible signs of peeling or flaking may be noticeable in some cases. However, remember that if you experience severely painful burning or any other symptoms of a serious reaction, you must visit your doctor immediately.

Precautions
There is a slight possibility that this gel may cause bleaching of hair, clothes or fabrics. Do not allow the gel to touch your hair, and take care to ensure that your clothes do not come into contact with it.

The active component in this gel can make the skin become more sensitive to the sun than normal. Ask your doctor how to avoid sunburn.

Seek immediate emergency medical attention if you suffer an allergic reaction. Symptoms to watch for, which may be indicative of a reaction, include skin rashes, hives, swelling of the face or limbs, trouble breathing, and trouble swallowing.

Always use Persol 2.5 Gel (Benzyl Peroxide) as you have been prescribed by your doctor. Never self-medicate or change your dosage without first consulting your doctor. The correct dosage can vary depending on your health, medical history, and the severity of the condition being treated.
