Uses
Relpax (Eletriptan) is used as a treatment for migraines. This drug belongs to a group of medicines called selective serotonin receptor agonists, and it works by reducing substances in the body responsible for causing nausea, light and sound sensitivity, and other symptoms present during a migraine attack. It can also narrow the blood vessels in the brain, which leads to a reduction in pain.

Dosage and Administration
Patients need to consult their doctor before taking Relpax (Eletriptan) tablets. If your doctor believes that this medication is necessary, and that it is suitable for you, it will be prescribed. You will also be given specific dosage instructions. Patients who are treating a migraine headache may be told to take 40mg once (or else 20mg once). The tablet should be taken as soon as migraine symptoms occur. If your symptoms do not improve after the first dose, you should call your doctor. You may be told by your doctor to take a second dose, at least 2 hours after the first dose, however, never take more than 2 tablets in any single period of 24 hours. See your doctor immediately if you suffer from more than 3 headaches in one month.

Side effects
Taking Relpax (Eletriptan) may sometimes cause you to experience side effects, such as:

  • Pain in the stomach
  • A tingling sensation underneath the skin
