Uses
Canditral (Itraconazole) is a type of antifungal drug which is prescribed by doctors as a treatment for fungal infections that can affect various parts of the body, such as the lungs, toenails and fingernails. In some cases, it may be given to patients with HIV to help prevent fungal infections. This medication is in a class of drugs known as triazoles, and it works by inhibiting the growth of the fungi responsible for causing the infection.

Dosage and Administration
Canditral (Itraconazole) tablets are taken by mouth. The dosage required depends on what condition is being treated. Fingernail infections might require taking this drug once per day for 1 week, and then temporarily ceasing treatment for 3 weeks. After this, it may be necessary to take it twice per day for a week. Patients treating toenail infections might be told to take it once pear day with a meal for 3 months. However, in all cases, patients need to continue taking it until their doctor tells them that their condition has been properly treated.

Side effects
