Silybon (Silymarin) is a medicine which is made with an extract from the seeds of the milk thistle plant. This drug is widely used by patients who wish to treat disorders of the liver, including liver cirrhosis, chronic hepatitis, jaundice and other related conditions.

In addition to this, many people believe that it may be effective as a appetite stimulant, and it is also taken by patients to treat gallbladder problems, dyspepsia, malaria, breast milk flow problems, symptoms of an allergy, treating a hangover and diabetes. There are also other conditions not listed here which it may be taken to treat.

Dosage and Administration
Silybon (Silymarin) tablets are administered orally. Your doctor will tell you the correct dosage to take. In some cases, adults treating allergic rhinitis have been prescribed a dose of 140mg of silymarin extract (equal to one tablet) taken 3 times per day. Patients affected by dyspepsia are usually instructed to take a different dosage, as well as those treating other conditions.
