Uses
Cleocin T Topical Solution (Clindamycin) is applied to the face as a treatment for acne. It contains an active ingredient which is a type of lincomycin antibiotic. This medicated solution targets bacteria (such as the bacteria associated with acne, known as Propionebacterium acnes), causing it to disintegrate, which leads to the treatment of the infection. By eliminating the bacteria, irritation of the skin is relieved, and the inflammation of the sebaceous glands is controlled, thereby giving the skin the opportunity to heal itself.

Dosage and Administration
Consult your doctor before using Cleocin T Topical Solution (Clindamycin), so that you can be provided with expert medical advice. You will also be told how often to apply the solution, and for how long you will need to continue using it. In most cases, patients treating acne will be told to apply it to the affected area twice per day. Remember that it can take 2 to 6 weeks before an improvement in the condition is noticed, and as long as 12 weeks before the full benefits of using this medicated solution are noticed. Consult your doctor if you do not notice an improvement in your condition, or if it becomes worse.

Treatment of acne with Cleocin T Topical Solution (Clindamycin) may cause:

  • Irritation, itching or redness affecting the skin

Inform your doctor if you feel unwell or if you are concerned about any side effects. It is possible that serious reactions may occur, however, this is rare. Consult your doctor if this happens.

Precautions
If the patient has a history of eczema, asthma or allergies, it is necessary to disclose this to the prescribing doctor before starting treatment.

Consult your doctor immediately if you notice severe diarrhoea, either during treatment or after you have finished using this medicated solution.

Seek immediate emergency medical attention if you suffer an allergic reaction. Symptoms to watch for, which may be indicative of a reaction, include skin rashes, hives, swelling of the face or limbs, trouble breathing, and trouble swallowing.

Always use Cleocin T Topical Solution (Clindamycin) as you have been prescribed by your doctor. Never self-medicate or change your dosage without first consulting your doctor. The correct dosage can vary depending on your health, medical history, and the severity of the condition being treated.
