Uses
Doverin (Drotaverine) is prescribed for patients with renal colic as a muscle relaxant, as well as for pregnant women to accelerate labour. It is an anti-spasmodic which can also be used with rimantadine to treat A or B type influenza or to relieve pain during endometrial or hysteroscopy biopsy when taken with mefenamic acid.

Dosage and Administration
Strictly follow the directions given by your doctor. Do not self-medicate or alter your dose by yourself.

An example of a normal adult dose is 30mg to 80mg of Doverin (Drotaverine), taken between 1 and 3 times each day. Children will be prescribed a reduced dosage to that of adults. Doses can be administered alongside meals if desired, and tables are swallowed whole without crushing, splitting, chewing, or dissolving in liquid.

Side Effects
If any side effects are persistent, worsening, or bothersome, report them to your gealthcare provider urgently. Usually side effects are safe, mild, and not persistent. Side effects reported by patients taking Doverin (Drotaverine) include nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, constipation, drowsiness, dizziness, headaches, vertigo, dry mouth, and low blood pressure.

Seek emergency medical attention if you suffer an allergic reaction. Symptoms may include skin rashes, hives, swelling, difficulty swallowing, and/or difficulty breathing.

Precautions
Doverin (Drotaverine) may not be suitable for all patients. Prior to dosing, always ensure you doctor is aware if you are pregnant, breastfeeding, or if you are planning or trying to conceive a child. Also ensure you have disclosed full details of:

• Any allergies you have
• Any other existing illnesses, medical conditions, or disorders
• Any other medication you take (including off-the-shelf medication)
• Any vitamins, dietary supplements, or herbal remedies you take
• Any other drugs you consume such as tobacco, alcohol, and any narcotics
