Uses
Levoquin (Levofloxacin) is a fluoroquinolone antibiotic with a wide range of uses. Its primary use is treating infections caused by bacteria. Infections of the urinary tract, kidneys, skin, sinus, prostate as well as other infections of the body are all effectively treated with this drug. In addition to this, it is often used to treat pneumonia and chronic bronchitis. Because antibiotics work by targeting and fighting the bacteria that causes infections to occur, they will not work on viral infections such as the common cold or flu.

Dosage and Administration
Patients who have been prescribed Levoquin (Levofloxacin) tablets are normally given specific instructions by their doctor regarding the dosage and length of time for which they need to be treated. You should note that the exact dosage required varies, and because this medication treats many different types of infections, doctors normally prescribe the dosage based on the infection needing treatment, and the severity of the condition. The majority of adult patients will be told to take it once per day. However, when taking this medication, it is essential to continue taking it until the full prescribed amount has been finished.
