  • Vaginal spotting
  • Vaginal discharge
  • Allergic reaction
  • Skin rash
  • Headaches

Tell your doctor if any side effects occur.

Precautions
Estrogens have been reported to increase the risk of endometrial carcinoma (cancer of the uterus). Vaginal estrogen therapy should not be used by women who are pregnant or who think they may be pregnant. It should not be used immediately after childbirth or while breast-feeding, and it should not be used by women who have unusual vaginal bleeding, a history of breast or uterine cancer, or a history of blood clots. While generally mild, side effects experienced by some women using Vagifem were vaginal spotting, vaginal discharge, allergic reaction, and skin rash. Other side effects include headache, abdominal pain, back pain, upper respiratory infection, vaginal itching, and vaginal yeast infection.

Seek immediate emergency medical attention if you suffer an allergic reaction. Symptoms to watch for, which may be indicative of a reaction, include skin rashes, hives, swelling of the face or limbs, trouble breathing, and trouble swallowing.

Always use Vagifem (Oestradiol) as you have been prescribed by your doctor. Never self-medicate or change your dosage without first consulting your doctor. The correct dosage can vary depending on your health, medical history, and the severity of the condition being treated.

This medication may not be safe for all patients. Before you begin using it always disclose the following to your doctor:
